Hi! I'm Katie and I just posted in WTTC for the first time this morning. We're waiting to TTC for probably 2 years, which gives me tons of time, but i've been fighting my weight my whole life. I've lost 30+ lbs over the last year-ish and have kinda leveled off. I want to get 10-15 more lbs off ideally and would LOVE to have them off before we get pregnant!! I understand this forum is kinda dead, but i'm up for posting here anyway. Maybe it will pick up more once summer fades into fall. We shall see!!

I try and pop in here every day or so to see what other people are up to, though I don't always post. I'll definitely help out when I can!

What kind of a plan are you following? Are you exercising?? I'm always curious to see what other people have done to lose weight.

I started on South Beach diet, which i really really like, but realistically i can't follow that to a T forever, so i have gone to calorie counting (and calorie cycling) and I love it. If i want a cupcake i have to make arrangements to work it into my plan and i don't have to feel bad about it.

I have gotten really really lazy in terms of formal workouts...lost my gym pass and need to get a new one. I run when i can and lift weights. I am pretty active in my job with lots of walking and lifting so i am getting activity in there!!

Thanks for any help in the future. I think my biggest issue is that i only need to lose about 10-15 more lbs and they just want to come off slowly and i want to push them out the door!! (and off my butt!!) hahaha!

Maybe it's time to get back to strict SBD until you shed those last unwanted pounds, and then gradually increase your carbs and keep an eye on calories? I'm an Atkins girl and that's what I did the last time I went into maintenance... Then I went on vacation and gained 10 lbs, which I'm now back on Induction to lose. Once they're gone, I'll up the carbs again and keep an eye on things.

I keep an eye on my food at www.lowcarber.org - it caters to Atkins, South Beach, Protein Power, etc. They have separate forums for all those diets and you can set up your own journal. I primarily stick to my journal and my friends journals, mainly because that's where I go every single day to vent about everything, not just my food and exercise. I've had my journal since 2003, so I can always go back and see if there are any trends, etc.

I'll stop being such a commercial now.

Even if you don't think you can make it to the gym, maybe make an effort to get outside for a walk a few days a week. Maybe drag someone along with you... Once you get into a routine, it's easy to stick to.
