I have to tell you, I have never had better motivation to lose weight than the prospect of not fitting comfortably in an airplane seat, and having to remain there for 16 hours. The armrests on movie theater seats dig into my hips, and I think airplane seats are about that size, so I know I need to lose some inches.

I am shooting for a loss of 1-2 lbs a week by watching my calorie intake and power walking for 45 minutes to an hour daily for the next 6 months, and of course after the trip... I am so excited to see where I end up!

For those of you on the same journey as I am, I found this website today, and I am LOVING it so far: http://caloriecount.about.com/

If any of you are needing a fitness buddy, let me know... I will need motivation every now and then!

heck yeah girl! I think airplane seats are smaller than movie seats! either way, a goal of 1-2 pounds per week is a fantastic goal b/c anything more than that isn't healthy and you'll be more likely to regain it! also, my wedding is 7 months out so we kind of have the same goal timeframe to aim for! welcome to the weightloss board... we're super glad to have you because we all seem to stay on track better when there are more of us!

Thanks Shannon! I am glad that you have the same timeframe as I do (almost)... What you doing for diet and exercise?

I had around 1300 calories today, and we walked for 20 minutes at a brisk pace on uneven ground, and then walked the dogs a couple of hours later on the pavement for about 15 minutes. It's not much, but I think it's a good start. We are going to walk every day... Not skipping any unless I am sick. I am looking forward to tomorrow because I went and bought a bunch of healthy food today after work, so I am looking forward to really eating healthily tomorrow!

(I am already craving a Guinness, though. This is going to be a long 6 months...)

I'm trying to lose 10-15 lbs....I can't really do much for exact counting of what calories are in my meals since many times I don't know what I am eating lol. But I am trying to eat healthier foods and do something for activity--right now I am sucking big time at exercising. Glad to have you around. A few of us have daily logs to right down what we ate/did that day--its helps us realize what we ARE really doing...and helps others stalk us a little to give us points or pokes lol.
Glad to have you here!
