Today was awesome!!! I used the exercise bike for 22 minutes this morning, and we walked for... 35 minutes this evening! 10-15 minutes longer than usual! We took a different trail, and the walk was much more enjoyable... We must have gone at the very least a mile, and I felt so good, even at the end, when we had to climb the big hill (I only took one break for about 10 seconds when it's usually two 20-30 second breaks up that hill)... I did meet red ants for the first time though. My arm is so chewed up. At the top of the hill, I leaned on the post that I lean on every freakin' day, and today there were red ants all over it and they apparently hated me. The swelling is going down now though, so it's okay.
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Snack: Apple and a hard boiled egg
Lunch: Salad with broiled chicken and vinaigrette dressing
Snack: Serving of reduced-fat Cheez-Its (29 crackers) and a hard boiled egg
After-walk snack: Banana
Dinner: 1/2 chicken breast cooked in salsa, 1/2 cup brown rice, and steamed broccoli and baby carrots
Maybe some Jello later
I am somewhere around the low end of 1300 calories.
Four bottles of water today so far, will probably drink at least one more with dinner... Which will bring the total to 160 oz.
Oh, and Angela, we did our passport applications today... My picture is so, so, so awful!

I am so bad about updating this thing on my days off from work.
I have definitely lost weight... My clothes are fitting MUCH better. Even after I had a free dinner (and heavenly chocolaty dessert) at Applebee's on Friday night. I am really proud of myself for getting right back on track. I have decided to allow myself one free meal a week where I can eat whatever I want so that dieting doesn't start to feel like a chore. Since I had two last week ( ), I am going to (theoretically) skip this week's and just do one next week... Maybe for Halloween! My best friend is visiting this weekend, though, so we'll see how I do. I have noticed that weekend sleeping-in throws off my entire day of eating. During the week I get up at 6:45, have some coffee and watch the news, then exercise from about 7:30 to 7:50, take a really quick shower (I don't wash my hair in the mornings, just at night), then eat breakfast at about 8:00. So I have myself on this snacking/meal schedule that works out really well and ends just in time for digesting dinner and having a Jello cup or a Weight Watchers ice cream bar before bed. On weekends when I sleep until 11:00 (or 1:30 like I did on Saturday ), it completely messes up the schedule, so I feel like I am stuffing my face until bedtime trying to get enough calories in. Even if it is all fruit and stuff on those days, I still feel like a pig. We are also taking one day off a week from exercising... Probably will continue to be Sunday.
Anyway, my normally tight bra that leaves huge red marks on my sides and back is fitting very, very comfortably... Hopefully that means I am losing fat from my sides and back and not too much boob.
I will update this tonight after dinner!

Today was great! 23 minutes on the recumbent exercise bike this morning, and then 45 minutes of walking tonight after work.
I started taking a multivitamin yesterday (One A Day Weight Smart because my mom recommended them) and I have to say, today I had a LOT of energy. I don't know if that's the result of exercising 12 out of 14 days, or if the multivitamin could be working that quickly.
Breakfast: Oatmeal and a banana
Snack: Apple and a hard boiled egg
Lunch: 4 oz. grilled chicken breast on 1/2 of a whole wheat bagel with mustard, tomato, and lettuce
Snack: Banana and a hard boiled egg
Dinner: Italian-style turkey burgers... Basically it's a slice of sourdough bread, a turkey patty (I prepare the meat myself with some Dijon mustard, tomato sauce, garlic, and Parmesan cheese), a portebello mushroom, marinara sauce, and a slice of reduce-fat provolone cheese... Stick it under the broiler for 5 minutes or so and let it get all gooey and melty... SO delicious.
Will probably have a Weight Watchers ice cream bar later... Yummy!
I don't know how many calories that turkey burger is but I am going to guess about 350, which would put me just under 1200 calories for the day... I am going to say I am probably a little over 1200 because I had an extra slice of sourdough bread because it just looked so good. My ice cream will be 110 calories, so I should land around 1300 for today.
I can't WAIT for dinner tomorrow... We went to Trader Joe's after we exercised tonight and I picked up some salmon, honey, and fresh ginger... I made a glaze out of honey, ginger, and a tiny bit of teriyaki sauce, and I am going to glaze and broil the salmon tomorrow... Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Today was alright. I have been in a very "down" mood for a lot of it. I weighed myself this morning for the first time in 3 years and it physically hurt to see what the scale said. I cried my eyes out and I am furious because how in the hell did I allow myself to get this way?
Anyway, I didn't ride the bike this morning because I overslept and had a GYN appointment to get to. I rode it for 20 minutes instead of walking this evening because by the time Josh got home from the store, it was getting pretty dark.
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: 4 oz. grilled chicken breast on 1/2 of a whole wheat bagel with mustard, tomato, and lettuce
Snack: Apple and a hard boiled egg
Dinner: Broiled salmon glazed with honey, fresh ginger, and garlic. Sides are this and this.
Since I skipped a snack today because of my GYN appointment I am going to be ending around 1100 calories, which is too low, so I am going to have to pad it with one of those WW desserts or a couple of pieces of fruit.

ITs just a number on the scale hun. Your health is more important and it sounds like you have a nice strong ticker! I am dying just doing a couple pushups. Thin doesn't equally healthy and non-thin doesn't equal unhealthy---remember that!

Thank you Angela. It's just discouraging... I feel like I have such a long way to go, and it's so daunting. I have been trying not to get down about it, though, and just keep up with what I have been doing since it is obviously working.
Well, the dinner I posted about there didn't work out. Not that night, anyway. I updated before dinner so that I could get cooking... Annnd, yeah, we had a bad night. I was mashing the potatoes and all of a sudden I heard Josh shout and he came running into the kitchen with his hand covered in blood. He went to the kitchen sink, rinsed it off, and there was a horrible gash in his left middle finger. Top knuckle to middle knuckle, sliced to the bone. It was literally gushing blood, and he was going through paper towels like it was going out of style. Apparently the puppy shoved one of her toys under the couch, like always, and Josh reached under there to get it out for her, like always, and he caught a very sharp spring that was sticking out of the bottom of it. So we crated the puppy and I drove him to Immediate Care, where he got a tetanus shot, an antibiotics shot, 10 stitches, a $400 bill, and a couple of prescriptions. Oy. So we ate at Taco bell that night since it was 10:30 by the time that we got out of Immediate Care and we still had to wait for Walgreens to fill his prescription. We didn't hit the door until almost midnight, and we had to let the puppy out to play for a while because we felt bad that she had been crated for so long. Long, long night.
So I made the dinner yesterday and it was delicious, aside from the fact that I squeezed a little too much lemon on the fish and it sort of clashed with the flavor of the honey. A teeny bit less and it would have been perfect... So, next time. Didn't walk yesterday because Josh was feeling really groggy from the meds that they gave him, so I rode the bike for about 30 minutes last night. My legs are sooo SORE today. And my butt hurts from sitting on the bike.
I really need to be better about getting up in the morning and riding the bike, because I haven't done it at all this week. Yesterday I was way too tired from the night before, and this morning... I don't know why I was so tired. Maybe I didn't sleep well, but regardless, I didn't get up until 8:15, so I didn't have time to ride. I feel pretty guilty about it, but I am hoping to get back into the swing of doing that tomorrow or Monday.

So the reason I haven't been updating this is because I am trying really really hard to not be so hard on myself. I am watching what I eat and still exercising, but I hurt my already injured ankle pretty badly on our last walk, about two weeks ago, and have been trying to give it a break. Josh is happy because he felt like I was being way too strict.
