Anyone up for a 6 week challenge? Valentine's Day is in 6 weeks, and I know I would like to look better by then...so I'm putting myself up for a challenge and hoping someone would like to join me!

I'm going to be setting a goal for each week, and adding a new thing to do every week as well. I'm not trying to lose a specific amount of weight, I just want to look better...and I know that if I do my plan, I will look and feel better then!

So, is anyone up for it?? I'll be posting my new routine on the first, and starting that day!

Alright, here are my goals and breakdown of how I am doing this.

I'm starting January 1, and each person can make their own plan, but for me..."ms. I prefer eating crap food and my kind of exercise is bringing in groceries from the car"...I'm keeping it simple with the goal of getting into a good routine. I'll start a thread for each week, and each person can post their goal, and at the end of the week post if they acheived their goal. I'll be making blinkies for each week and at the end there will possibly be a prize from me as well for anyone who acheives all their goals.

Here's an idea of my goals(coming from someone who rarely exercises or eats right), please adapt as you see fit for YOU. We have all sorts of fitness levels and habits on the board so everyone will have different goals. Part of my goals is getting on a better schedule for when DH comes home

Week 1- 15 minutes workout daily, whether it be yoga or walking at a brisk paces, and eat breakfast every day!

Week 2- 30 minutes workout 5 days a week, 3 walk/jog 2 alternate cardio/weights(whatever body can handle), 45 minute walk/jog on Sunday(whatever I feel like, just get moving!). throwout the junk food! Early bedtime, lights and TV out by 10 pm.

Week 3- 45 minutes workout 5 days a week(3 cardio, 2 freeweights/resistance training), 1 hr walk/jog on sunday or saturday. Bedtime 9:30 pm, alarm time 6:30 am. No food after 8:00 pm.

Week 4- 60 minutes workout 3 days a week(cardio), 45 minutes 2x a week(weights/resistance), 2 base laps on sunday as fast as possible(approx 5 miles). Bedtime 9:30 pm, alarm time 6:15 am. No food after 7:30 pm. No TV on in bedroom after 9 pm, music only.

Week 5- 5 miles a day 3 days a week, 2 miles a day 2 days a week + 30 minutes of weights/resistance. 30 min/day 2x week workout video(yoga, pilates, belly dance..whatever, just do it!). 3 laps base on sunday (7.25 miles) as fast as possible. bedtime 9:15 pm, alarm time 6 am.

Week 6- 5 miles a day 5x a week, 30 min weights 2x a week, 2 workout videos a week. 3 base laps sunday, pacing for an 11 minute mile. Bedtime 9 pm, alarm time 5:45 am.

These are just my goals..I'm pushing myself because I know I can do this, and I'm trying to train up and hopefully be able to do a half marathon this fall and a full marathon in early 2010, if possible, and surprise my mother and run with her.

Great plan Jen!!

I will post my goals once I choose a gym I'm going to start going to as I want them to help me write up a plan. I'm going to check out one gym this afternoon.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooo I want to join. I dont plan on losing too much weight by Valentines' Day probably about 2 to 4 pounds if that. I'm mainly looking to tone up a bit. I want something that I can do as a hassle-free routine. I moved into a bigger house and have to go up 4 grueling flights of stairs to get to my room. So my primary goal is to not be out of breath when I reach the top after coming up from the ground level . We have this amazing community center with an indoor pool, rock climbing and all sorts of machines, so thats where I'll be working out at. I use to do Zumba (I miss it soooooo much) but the membership where my gym is, is now 15-20 minutes from where I live as opposed to 2 minutes.

My week will start on the 8th, to be slightly consistent with your schedule. I start school on Monday so I'm not trying to do too much since I'm work full-time as well.

Week 1-5: Work out 3 times for atleast 45 minutes and no fried foods (including french fries - my favorite unless they're baked )

My plan isnt as intense as yours Jen, but I think I'll be able to keep this up in the long run.

My overall weight loss goal is to lose about 10 lbs. I want to get down to between 130-135lbs. I loved being 135lbs. I'm about 146 now (thanks to bcp)

I've been slacking heavily on this. I've gained a few pounds over the weekend too. I have no idea how

I'm going to start working out after mid-terms in 2 weeks. I promise!
