I have just decided that my weight is now out of control (well i've decided this a few times before) anyway I am 24 years old and weight 195lbs and i'm 5 foot 5. the highest I had ever been was 175 and then I decided that was enough and I would lose weight and I did I went down to 150 and eventually 140.

well times have changed and now I'm 21 and DF and I like going out to eat with friends which isn't a problem except I like chicken wings and beer, pizza and beer, cheeseburgers and beer... well you get the point. I am active with my job ( on my feet walking 12 hour shift) but only usually work 3-4 days a week and don't get any outside exercise.

I am alone during the week and then my DF is here on the weekends, he works out of town. during the week when i'm tired it has gotten all too easy to just grab something quick because I don't really want to cook something for just myself. and then when he is here we go out usually for at least one meal which means at least one night at a restaurant per week

I belong to WW online but don't really follow it and I have a curves membership but only make it there about once a week. I just really like paying for things I don't use I guess.

my clothes no longer fit me and I haven't even looked at wedding dresses yet because I just dread the though of squeezing into one and looking back on pics from the day and thinking oh I wish I would have lost some weight.

anyway so I decided to start today, I am going to the grocery store to stock up on healthy foods. my plan is to eat a high fiber cereal and some fruit in the mornings or like egg whites or something and then for lunch I usually have a lean cuisine at work but then dinner is a toss up.

If anyone has any ideas for my dinner/suppers at night that are at least fairly healthy and a reasonable amount of calories or points I would appreciate it. I do like to cook if I have the time.

so this was so long I just couldn't stop myself

I just wanted to say I'm in a similar situation as you are and I understand how it feels.

Anyway I'm not sure about you, but I'm a sugar fiend and I've found that sugar free jello helps a lot. Also I've noticed when I get more protein I'm not nearly as hungry and don't snack as much. Oh, and the betty crocker website has some good recipes if you do a search. They list the nutritional value of everything and are fairly easy to make.

my personal reccomendation is to stock up on fruits and veggies, if you have them around chances are you'll eat them. also maybe make one small healthy casserole that you can eat for a few meals then you dont have to worry about cooking every night.

I don't know if you have a George Foreman grill, but mine saved me! Sounds silly, but you can pop in a filet of Tilapia (inexpensive as far as fish goes, and great for those Omega 3's!) or half a chicken breast, and it'll be cooked up in no time. I did that a lot when I was cooking for just me.

Make sure you're eating more veggies than fruit, as fruit is basically "natural candy". Also, whole grain, whole grain, whole grain! :-)

You can do this! We have faith in you!

I second the George Forman. I stopped frying things (i.e., chicken, fish, etc) and just grill it on the foreman.

Taking a walk, especially power walking with some good music is always nice on a good day!!!

Of course I say to cook something, but if you do order, then get a salad with a light dressing like balsamic vinegarette
