So since I know its going to be a year at least until we TTC I would love to lose between 30-35 pounds. I hate being 160+ and only 5'4". I can't fit into my clothes and I feel uncomfortable in my own body. Most my weight is in my hips, butt and waist.
I have done this so many times, started over and over and over. How do you stay motivated to stick to it? I know small changes are the key for me because I hate trying to do things to dramatic and getting frustrated and cranky. My first step is going to be to cut out the coffee, soda and junk food. I tend to stress eat so I need to find a better outlet. I know working out will help with that but finding time is so hard and I always find an excuse. Any ideas? Ok well I will end here but I am hoping to jump in this with you ladies and maybe find that little push I need .

You can do it. I'm 150+ and 5'4" (I have a lot of curves so I may not really look it). I've started working out recently. My goal is to be 135.

I've mainly been just trying to cut back on the portions of what I eat and staying away from fried foods and french fries (my weaknesses). I also have a Wii and just bought EA Active (similar to the Wii Fit but better)... Gold Gym for the Wii is better though. (I dont know if you have a Wii but its fun).

It takes A LOT of discipline and patience but you can do it!!! (I'm trying to apply that to myself too LOL). I also go outside a lot and walk around or play ball with Miki when she's with us or I'll just cut on some music and dance in the house if I have a lot to do and dont have a lot of time. I just started last week so no progress in my weight has been made.

I do have the Wii and the Wii fit. I love it but the kids love to do it with me . Hula hooping is fun . I will have to check out the EA activities and golds gym. I don't recommend the new michelle micheals one.

Why dont you recommend that one?

I dont have the Wii fit. I thought about getting it but after I heard about EA Active and Golds Gym, I figure I'd try them out first before spending $100+ on a Wii fit.

I have a gym membership to a regional gym so I take classes there sometimes (I love Zumba and Body Pump classes)

Do you have a weight and date goal?

Mine is to be down to at least 135 by labor day

Well at least you have fun playing it. Maybe we can do this together. Like every Sunday we post our current weight, hip inches or something similar to track our progress.

I have a feeling that I will gain a lot of muscle and wont get down to 135 but at least I'll be fit, toned and have more energy

I would be down for doing this together. Sometimes being accountable to someone I can't bribe (DH) is better. We have been doing some kind of exercise each night, either weights or cardio. It isn't an hour but I figure something is better than nothing. I have cut all but one cup of coffee out of my diet but found cutting cold turkey made me super cranky. I am eating smaller portions too and stopping when I am full.

Thats cool. So every Sunday (starting this Sunday) we post our weight and our exercise regime for that previous week.

I havent given up coffee. I go to starbucks every morning before work and get a caramel macchiato. Without it, I'm super cranky.

Thats great that you stop when you're full. I just eat smaller portions or if I'm out and I get a plate full, I eat only half of everything. You guys have weights and such in your house?

I totally missed yesterday I am up one pound which of course hubby got mad at me for worrying about. I have not found a good cardio time but am doing some sit ups, push ups and stuff like that before bed. I went back to the coffee and hubby was happy about me not being so cranky . How did you do last week?

Idk, maybe up here since it might be helpful to others.

Last week I did pretty good. I lost 2 lbs. Went from 155# to 153#. I worked out about 3 days last week. I went to zumba on Thursday and did EA Active on the Wii (Tuesday and Friday). Portions wise I did pretty well, I didnt over stuff myself.

However, yesterday I went to Checkers and had a burger and fries (figured one day couldnt hurt). I felt like a fat kid so Df and I took an hour walk around the neighborhood afterwards. I went to Zumba again on Monday this week and I plan to go to BodyPump or BodyStep today and tomorrow.

My goal is to work out 4 days a week. (so far 3 seems to be the lucky number LOL)

Hi, I am new. But I would love to join you. My best friend and I were supposed to start on Jan 1st. BUt She lives in Seattle and I live in Pa. With the time distance and her work, well we don't really help each other that much. Both of my sisters are getting married. One on Aug 22 and one on Sept 12th this year. I want to tone up my arms and lose at the very least 10 lbs by then. But as much as I can the healthy way. The first one is in 9 weeks so if I work hard I could be down 15

Yes, I started ww again today. I want to do cardio at least three times a week starting out again and then strength training twice a week. I will up the cardio after I stick to it a week or so.

So I am catching up . I have been having some female problems and working out was causing bleeding ugh. So I was taking it easy until I figured out why. I go back in a week to make sure that everything is ok for me to no have any more weird stuff. Hopefully then I can get back into working out without freaking myself out LOL. I have been trying to watch portion size and doing decent. I am down to about 158 and had climbed to 165 so not bad. I have cut down to eating out only sporadically and found making a menu helpful. So that I think has helped me drop a few pounds. I went back to my coffee because I just couldn't take not having them . How are you ladies doing? How is the food and working out going? Lets check in and see.

Zumba is indeed fun!

Oh no Jess! I hope everything is okay and that its nothing major. I was wondering what happened to you. Over the weekend I got a little out of control with my eating and on Sunday I weighted myself and I was 155#, so I went back up 2#s.

I am going to Atlantic City, NJ in Aug and Miami around Labor Day so I definitely need to get it together.

I'm back to portioning myself now and working out on a more consistent basis. This is harder than I thought. I'm not giving up though. I have a goal to reach.

FYI I took a Pilates demo course yesterday b/c I knew NOTHING about it and the instructor told me that I had a nice body type She boosted my ego a bit on that one.

Update: So I worked out about 5 days last week and gained about 2 lbs. I think its all lean muscle mass and water weight though. I have been doing rowing (my new found love), strength training and zumba.

This week Im going to focus on the same exercises as I like them. I'm only going to work out about 3 or 4 days this week. As opposed to 5.

That is great that you are sticking with it and doing so well. I did find out what was wrong and go for a surgery Aug 6th. Should be good to go then. Of course DH and I decided to start trying in September after the surgery. Dr said I needed to wait one cycle. So I might be waiting on the weight loss. I am going to start walking each day though no matter what I am just not going for the major loss I was thinking. Walking is so good for me though. I took my kids today for a walk and it felt great.
