Hello ladies...I am not WTTC...I'm DTTC...that means done trying to conceive...DH got the ole' snipero and we are finished! However, all my JM friends are here at WTTC and I am making a new years resolution to "get healthy". I am 106 pounds right now. Although I am not overweight (more like underweight) I have high blood pressure and thanks to my 2 rounds of gestational diabetes and PCOS am headed toward Type 2 diabetes. I need to start working out and eating a MORE balanced diet all day long...I just don't eat enough now to get all the nutrients my body really needs. These health issues really have me worried and for 30 years old I have all the diseases that a old fat man would have. My husband for the last year or so has gotten into running and biking doing 5K's and half marathons (even a mini triatholon) and he has really committed to getting healthy! I hope you gals will have me along for the ride, even though my goals are a bit different than just weight loss!

You can do it Keri! Really we should be on similar diets since I have PCOS too. The no sugar, low crappy-carb diet filled with good whole grains and all that other good stuff. Actually I think that is a good diet for anyone. I support you!

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the support....so yesterday I was a bad girl...see here's the bad thing about starting this right now...on Sunday I found out I have strep throat so I'm on antibiotics and I'm trying to "take it easy" until I am feeling completely better...so I haven't done any exercise...but strep throat is a good excuse right??? Anyway - I have been trying to eat good but failing miserably - here it is:

December 1, 2009:

Breakfast - Fiber One bar
2 cups coffee black

Lunch - cup of grapes, and a 1/2 cup of green bean casserole

Snack - handful of almonds

Dinner - 3/4 cup hamburger helper gulash (low fat ground beef and DH added spinach to it), 1/2 cup green bean casserole, 1 cup 2% milk

Bedtime snack - can of Bud light lime - (DH and I got a little frisky and I always like a beer afterward )

That's like probably not even 1000 calories is it????

GAHHHH My doc called with my blood work and my fasting sugar and my hemoglobin A1c (which has something to do with sugar/glucose/insulin etc.) were both in the pre-diabetic range so I have to go back in three months. I guess its good I'm not in the diabetic range but I'm even higher in the pre range than I was before I got preggo with Nora.............I do NOT WANT Type 2 diabetes people

Yes Michelle - drink before and after! Thanks girls....but ................

I weighed myself this morning ----- 105, I lost a pound! Ahhhhhhhhh
I've been doing really good eating wise to work on my sugar numbers....but duh...a low sugar diet is perfect for weightloss....NOT what I need. How do I do this...I need a nutritionist...someone who can tell me how to eat some more fat but without messing up my sugars anymore.....this sucks.....gahhhhhhhh I wonder if a nutritionist is covered by insurance...I don't want to have to pay out of pocket for this...where do I even start....
