For the mamas, how do you find time to work out? I know they say you have to make time, but it's so easy to let exercise fall on the back burner. When he naps, I'm exhausted! And I don't want to go to the gym alot and be away from my family.

I would love to walk with DS, but I live so close to the highway and honestly don't feel safe talking walks outside my small neighborhood.

hun i wish i had the answers! i am just an auntie right now so i'm not sure how a mama would do it. the one mama i know who is super fit 3.5 mos after having her twins has a maid, a night nanny & a day nanny sooooo for us ppl like us without an army looking after us i have no idea how to fit it in! i hope to try to figure it out when i have a baby tho...it seems like a huge challenge. workout dvd's maybe? that you can select the length of workout? i know some (my biggest loser ones i believe) have 10 min segments that you can do. even squeezeing 3 or 4 of those in a day would be an amazing start. or maybe a treadmill in the house?

Workout videos! It is the only way I would get any exercise right now. I still hope to make the gym though.

Are you insuinating that us SAHWs don't HAVE all the time? I mean honestly, I have to keep up with my soaps, and my phone calls and texts from you, and some housecleaning and errand running and the "honey today will you have time to"s.... Honestly, you Mommy types fascinate me.

This sounds ironic as I type...but I'm sooooo selfish, I've decided. When my girls nap, anything that I'm "supposed to do" (ie: cleaning, exercising, bill paying, etc.) falls by the wayside and I end up sitting my chunky tail down to get online or watch my favorite tv show or something else. I think my problem is that I don't consider exercise fun or something I *want* to do. I do like zumba, but have the problem of feeling like I'm away from my babies enough with work...leaving them a few nights a week sends guilty messages to my brain. Which I KNOW is silly. *sigh* I've never tried dvds...they just never really seem to spark my interest. maybe I'll try the wii again though....liked this at one time, just never stuck with it.

I do workout videos when my kids are up. They thinks it's funny to watch me, but generally they just play. Sometimes dd comes and sits on my belly while I'm doing crunches, though. lol

I am a member of my local YMCA. They have a childcare, that is more like a playground for the kids and they LOVE IT. I can bring all 5 of my little ones and they have different rooms for the different ages (birth to 1 year room, 1-3 year old room, 3-5 year old room...up to age 12) and I can spend 2 hours working out or doing anything in the Y that I want...it rocks...and I go 5 days a week If you find something that your kids enjoy doing too, it helps
