I really should add in a few workouts a week, but that would mean doing dvd's in our very small living room. It's WAY too hot outside to do anything outside. 100-110 degrees with the humidity. bleh.
So far I've just been doing a ton of walking (I'm a Health Care Aide at a hospital so I'm on my feet walking for 8 hours straight).

I'm doing a Zumba class, and a pilates/yoga fusion class 2x a week, but that will end in probably three weeks.

For the last two weeks I've worked out everday except Mondays (school) doing the eliptical and strength training. Minimum 60 min.
I'm exhausted.

After I get the living room cleaned today I'm busting out a Jillian Michaels DVD. Which one to do? I've only done the 30 Day Shred but I also have Yoga Meltdown, Burn Fat Boost Metabolism, or No More Trouble Zones.
Any of you tried any of them??

I don't like videos. I've done The firm step and P90X. P90X was awesome, but our livingroom is now WAY too small to workout in I find that if I work out with other people around, I work harder!
LOTS of people swear by the 30 day shred though...how do you like that one?

I plan to start back up once my leg heals up. Right now even light walking hurts it.

Wow, good job! I need to start running again, but it's hard to find the time with school. (With summer though, I have no excuses!!)
Mrs Klynn, what's the Yoga Meltdown like? I would like to do a yoga or pilates video, but not sure which one to get/do.

Yeah I know, videos aren't my fave either but we had to drop our gym membership due to finances being tight, and it's too bloody hot to do anything outside, so videos it is. I've got LOTS but can't do all of them because our living room too is quite small.
30 Day Shred. It's short (20minutes) but it's hard. I haven't even made it past level one. And my husband is in better shape than I am did it and thought he was gonna die. lol.

I wanna run SO bad, but I have to wait until I'm at a lower weight. It just puts too much pressure on my joints and lower back with all this extra weight.
I haven't tried Yoga Meltdown yet. I've taken hot yoga classes and LOVE them but I hear that Yoga Meltdown is waaaaaay different than a yoga class. I'll give it a try this week and let you know.

Hope you heel up quickly. I know what that is like and it's no fun at all.

Thank you Mrs.Klynn. I am hoping by next week it will be healed up enough to atleast do some light cardio.
I also had to cancel my gym membership cause of finances but my job has a few cardio things that i can use. I also have Beach Body Insanity and Turbo Fire dvds that i can do but wanted to start off alittle slow since i am so freaking out of shape right now. We have a bunch of free weights and a ellipitcal at home but its under construction right now because of finishing the basement and all the dust every where.

My problem is not having anywhere to work out. I don't mind doing the videos, and I find that if I do those, I exercise more and for longer periods of time.
Our bedroom is super small and most of the time, there is someone in the living room and I get tired of listening to their comments about my working out. It's always, "You're working out? You aren't doing it very hard. You should work harder." Or "For working out, you don't seem to have lost anything."
MIL even mentioned tonight at dinner that I shouldn't be eating such-and-such if I wanted to lose weight. I was tempted to tell her that if I wanted to lose weight in this house, everyone else would have to go hungry, because nothing that they like to eat is healthy and I am NOT going to make something different for me to eat, because I just know that everyone would poke fun at me.
Usually I do Walk Away the Pounds. Right now I'm doing the 1 mile and then the 2 mile. I'm trying to work up to the 3 mile.

I understand that @may14th2011. I enjoy cooking dinner for my S/O on most nights and he doesn't eat anything healthy except for chicken. So, its really hard to try and eat right in that house....plus he always wants to grab fast food when we are out and about on the weekends. I never ate fast food before I met him...now i eat it atleast once or twice a week. SIGH!

I know that can be hard when others feel it's okay to make comments left from what you should or shouldn't be eating to if you are or are not working out hard enough. Personally.....if they've got something to say, and they don't think twice or not about if it's really appropriate, then they better be okay with hearing what I have to say in regards to it.
TRUST ME.....people don't like to see other people succeed, especially when they wish they could be the ones doing it. As hard as I tried to keep what I was up to on the down low last time I lost 50lbs, people obviously noticed that I was shrinking away, they wanted to know all the details of exactly what I was doing for exercise, what I was eating, etc. If we went out for dinner...I'd order something very healthy (think baked or grilled chicken breast, potato, and a plain salad with lots of cucumbers and tomatoes) but ask that no seasonings or sauces, butters, dressings etc be used. I'd bring along my own sea salt, and that's how I'd eat my meal. And trust me....not only will your family and friends be looking at you crazy but the staff at some restaurants will make a stink about it. I don't know how many times I heard ..... DO YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY. I learned it's just better to say. yes. yes I do. and then i wouldn't be grilled with other questions, or told that no they wouldn't prepare it the way I wanted.
My husband isn't the biggest fan of eating vegetables at all. He hates onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. All things that I LOVE to use for added flavor etc. I try to make meals that are healthy that both of us can eat but sometimes I make it how I want it and he has to just suck it up, or make his own meal. You have to make the decision to do this for yourself. YOU. not what's best or easy for others around you.
Put yourself first, and if others don't wanna be supportive, let that be all the more FUEL FOR YOUR FIRE to bust your arse even harder!!!
Go get em ladies!!

I agree with putting yourself first. My DH is not the biggest fan of "healthy" food, but I make it anyway!
I'm doing this for ME, not anyone else.

I did the 30 day shred for a week and nearly killed myself. My husband does P90X and I made him do the JM dvd with me and he complained the whole time and said he hated it. She really knows how to work you out.

I have been doing the 10 minute solution dvds on netflix, and tonight I am going to adult open gym at the gymnastics place. 10.00 is worth it to beat out my frustrations on the mat for awhile. I am taking a break next week because we will be in Texas.
