Do you consider them a veggie or a starch?

I know it may not really matter... kinda like the whole tomato is a fruit deal, but when needing to eat 3-5 servings of fruit/veggies... and a potatoes and corn are more of a starch, do they count? What if you're eating them daily?

Well I hate corn so that's not an issue for me (haha sorry no help I know!). I think potatos are definately a starch. We have white/red potatos maybe once every two weeks just to feel like we aren't depriving ourselves. But sweet potatos are much better for you, and if you sprinkle them with cinnamon (not with sugar) it's a nice choice. We have those 2x a week.

I don't view corn as a veggie because it's low in nutritional value. When eating my veggies I don't count it as one. I count potatos as a starch. However, both corn and potatoes are vegetables. When eating carbohydrates I try to stick with the complex carbs that are better for me.

Health Benefits of Corn: There are no particular health benefits of corn, except for the fact that it provides necessary calories for daily metabolism of the body. Corn is good for skin care, boosting nervous system, digestion, and maintaining low cholesterol levels.
