Hey ladies,
I was wondering if you guys had any good meal ideas that can be eaten on the run, that aren't too unhealthy. with school, and work, I RARELY have time for a sit down meal..so i end up eating a lot of fast food and vending machine crap. Any ideas on what I can do to eat better on the go? lol

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Well I would always always always suggest keeping something sweet AND salty with you like 100 cal packs or something to avoid vending machines... no matter what you're craving you should be covered. Do you have a microwave available to you at work/school or do you literally mean on the go, like in your car?

I take
-pretzels in baggies
-triscuits and cheese
-protein shakes
-pre pack a sandwhich with whole grain bread and good meats
-scramble up some eggs and make a roll up with a tortilla

okay well with the microwave you can do frozen lean cusine/healthy choice/smart ones which are usually high in sodium but overall a better (and cheaper!) choice than fast food and the portion size is right. Also, popcorn is high in fiber and satisfying but you can get like 94% FF and it's a yummy, hot, snack that isn't bad for you. A lot of times you can even find popcorn in vending machines if you're stuck, but beware the ones that are super butter-y. Taco soup is an easy thing to make (and freeze!) and have on hand. You just take 3 cans beans (whichever you like :kidney/pinto/black/whatever) 3 cans tomatoes, 1 can mexicorn, 1 pkg taco seasoning and 1 pkg ranch powder; dump it in a pot and warm it up. it literally takes like 1 min to make and makes a ton and it's really good for you and quite high in fiber. you can add FF cheese or sour cream to make it more like a 'chili' as well. like lauren mentioned, get some WW bread (you can find good bread that';s only 45 cal per slice!) and add that with some 2% or FF cheese and ham/turkey for a very lean sandwich. If you're on the go alot I think it's important to always have a ton of grab&go snacks. bananas travel well, as do clementines, 100 calorie packs (if you don't want to spend extra $ then buy pretzels or whatever and coupnt out the serving size into zip lock baggies so you don't go overboard) granola bars, etc. Instant oatmeal is low cal and a great start for breakfast in a hurry. I think the main thing is trying to PLAN! If you make packing a lunch or whatever you next meal on the go is a priority the night before... just take 10 minutes or less to figure it out before bed, then you can just grab your lunch, it's planned when you have time and aren't hungry so it'll be reasonable and you really can't screw up that way. GL!

If you have a microwave, then you have even more options!

Chili and soup in a GOOD container will not lead and doesnt have to be cold all day

Baked potatoes are a very easy thing. The potatoe you can carry, along with some spray butter (0 calories and you can carry it!). Pop in microwave and bam you've got lunch. I eat one almost every day, i'm addicted
