Shannon I know you do weight watchers so I have a question for you.. Is it worth it to join weight watchers just to lose 10-15lbs?? I am having tons of trouble just getting the lbs off... I exercise and try my hardest to not over eat but I am getting nowhere.. I've heard so many good things about weight watchers!! I thought about joining online for 3 months to try and get the initial 10-15lbs off then just keeping up with it to maintain a healthy weight.. Let me know what you think!!! You always have some good insight!!

Hi!

Here is what I recommend! First of all, I think it's possible to sucessfully do WW without paying for the meetings provided you have a good understanding of how the program works. You can go into a local WW and just say you need to purchase the start up book ... it will give you a points slider, a week 1 booklet and explain how everything works. I think it'll cost maybe 30 bucks or so. You could also get one on eBay. It comes with the dining out guide and just some basic info about the two different programs. I think it's worth it to join if you have anything more than 5 pounds to lose b/c it's about maintaining a healthy LIFESTYLE... not a diet. I think it would really benefit you in particular b/c I think from reading your log you would sometimes think you were eating good when it was sometihng that wasn't "typically" bad ... like chicken, but it def. wasn't good, yknow? I think it'll open your eyes a bit to how much you're taking in and what is good or bad for you. Totally worth it.

But that's my suggestion, just buy the info somewhere and skip the meetings. If you have any Q's or don't understand you can always ask me... I'm an old pro, haha.

Thanks for the insight Shannon!!! I am going to go ahead and sign up and do the WW online for 3 months to start. DH told me to go ahead and spend the money to try it out and that he would follow it with me and help motivate me!! So hopefully you will be seeing me around the weightloss forum more!!! Thanks again!!!

Awesome! Let me know how hte online stuff works, I had free access to that and never used it, but I already knew the main tips/tricks etc. That ROCKS that DF will be supporting you b/c I know you two love to go out to eat together! A great thing about WW though is that you CAN go out ot eat... and it helps you decide what's worth spending the calories on!

So far so good with WW online.. I joined last night.. I have access to all the recipes. I type my stuff all into the chart and they calculate my points and its pretty neat!! I think I am going to print alot of these recipes and make me my own WW cook book!!! I joined for three months and after it ends I will just continue to follow it on my own without having to pay the monthly price!! DH is trying to follow it with me and I have even convinced my dad to give it a try!!! woo-hoo!! I am kind of excited!! I feel like I am finally going somewhere with losing a few lbs!!!

That's awesome, Aimee! DEf. a good idea by printing the recipes you like... when I had the trial my friend printed like 500 pages worth of stuff (at her job no less, haha) and put it into a giant binder... it was cute. Do you get any materials IRL though? Like a points slider? I think that's the one thing you can't live without, especially for going grocery shopping.

Oh yeah, I'm assumign you're doing Flex poitns program, or did you decide to try Core? There' just no way I could ever do core.. lol... I love my crap food too much!

You *Def* need the points finder for when you go grocery shopping. You can look up a lot of stuff online, orl ikey ou said just log your food and it tells youthe points... but I think for being out and about, you shoudl have the little slider.
