Well, after putting it off for quite sometime with every excuse in the book, it's time to start my food and exercise journal!
So...
Hi, my name is Tasha, and I'm a chocoholic...
There! I said it! "I AM A CHOCOHOLIC!!" In fact I'm a junkfood-a-holic as well... and it's time to do something about it.
I'm one of those lucky people who seems to be able to eat whatever I want and still stay skinny. I'm 5'2" and only weigh 50kg's. However I suffer from a constant runny nose, itchy eyes and eczema (from being allergic to diary products), get really painful bloated stomachs (pretty sure this is from sugar) and always feel tired and run down. I'm also pretty lazy and prefer to sit on my butt rather than exercise. I know that even though I'm thin, I'm NOT healthy. It's time I grew up and did something about it.
So, for me, this blog is going to be more for healthy eating and exercise, rather than losing weight (if anything, I need to put a bit of weight on). I'm hoping it will enable me to track exactly what I put in my mouth and hopefully encourage and teach me to make healthier choices. It is to make me realise just how much dairy and sugar I eat so I can cut down on it and also track how I feel after I've eaten certain things.
My goals are:
- cut dairy out of my diet
- cut down on processed sugar
- cut down on meat products
- start exercising for at least 30 minutes a day
- start eating more veggies and fruit
- drink at least 2 litres of water a day
- learn how to cook!
I have no idea how to count calories or what is good or bad for me, so any support, suggestions or advise will be very much appreciated!!
Note: May not be posting on this every day for the first few weeks as I'm starting a new job this week and will be staying at a friends (who doesn't have internet) until we move into our new flat on the 12th April. But I promise I'll be back as soon as I have access to the internet!

yah, I don't need to tell you that's not enough water, although experts do argue about it. They can't figure if you should drink 8 glasses or drink when you feel thirsty...
I for one just drank 2 glasses in less than 2 min, and am miserable right now--water logged is the word.
Well, I can't say I don't envy you...but I used to be that way--eat what I want and not gain weight...
I admire you for stepping up and saying "I may be thin, but I'm not healthy" good for you.
I hope you get your allergies under control. I think sugar bloats me too, but I still like sweets.I also love chocolate around that time of month...
well, you did well today...congratulate yourself! I hope you are blessed on your new job~

Welcome to the board. I am trying to do the just become healthier plan also (except if i lost 10-20 lbs i would be ok with that also, i am on the high end of normal for my size).
You goals are wonderful but i think as a starter goals go you have some unrealistic things......exercise 30 min a day....if you don't do any now, you most likely will burn out fast trying to do this. Take baby steps.....they will be more likely to change your lifestyle.
Your water intake.....there are a variety of amounts "they" say to drink. The newest rule is half your bodies wt (in lbs) divided by 2= the amount in oz you should drink a day......however if you can keep your urine clear and colorless thats your perfect amount also! (morning pees don't count-they will always have more color to them).
I am NOT a cooker either LOL, one of my posts asked how to boil eggs correctly LOL. My advice is grab some friends who do and get their favorite recipes. I am not pro-cook books until you have enough experience to know if you will like it. I can't tell my the recipe if something will taste good or not. So I rely on friends, and this board! If you find a good healthy recipe ....please share!
Keep up the charting and Good Luck with the Job!

Yay! Finally back on JM!
Really should have put 'long term' goals in that first post as that is what they are... I was going to the gym three times a week up until the end of December but don't think I can afford that now as we are saving for a house. Just need to wait for a month or so to sort out all our bills etc (I've been living in the UK and am now back in NZ so am trying to get my head around dollars again rather than pounds!)...
We have just moved into our flat and are still sorting out our kitchen so haven't started cooking our normal meals again, but should be sorted by next week...
16th April 2008
Breakfast - Porridge covered in sugar (so bad - I normally have honey with it but haven't brought any yet)
Morning Tea - Two choc chip cookies and a cup of tea
Lunch - Bag of potato sticks and a chicken/salad sandwich
Afternoon Tea - Fruit bar
Dinner - Thai green curry with lots of veggies and rice
Water - at least 6 glasses
Excerise - None, but we've had a huge storm over the past two days so I can't get out of the house. I still haven't found my pilates DVD (it's in a box somewhere but haven't finished unpacking...)
My god, today was terrible. But this blog is about being honest...

Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm having huge problems with getting on to JM in the evenings, so am basically only trying once before I give up and go do something else...
Healthy eating is going well, and getting lots of veggies in to my diet. Need to work on the fruit side of things though.
Once of my clients offered me a free 'taster' to her Pilates classes tomorrow night so I'm taking that as a sign it's time to start working on the excerising part of my goals!
