So what do you take to work for lunch? Do you buy your lunch every day or always pack a lunch? What do you think would be a healthy choice for lunches and snacks at work?

I'm having a real problem with this as I don't really like sandwiches unless they are freshly made. Generally I always have left overs from the night before - I start my new job tomorrow so won't know what they have there until then (fridge, microwave etc)...

hmm, I don't currently work now, but I do go to school.

Well, it depends on the facilities they provide. Do they have a microwave? If so, those $1 lean cuisines taste good! I like them. I also like the Banquet $1 meals and if you look closely some of them only have as many calories or LESS than the lean cuisines.

another thing I used to eat all the time when I worked for a Medical Billing company was egg rolls! I love them. And they have 3 g fiber and 120 calories and 10 g protein in one!

But I like stuff mixed like that, with lots of flavor and love vegetables.

My SO takes soup all the time. I don't like soup enough to eat it like he does.

I'm pretty lucky in that dept. because I don't have to take anything. The family that I Nanny for buys the groceries...will ask if there is anything in particular I would like them to pick up...keeps things on hand for me.

What they keep on hand for me.....
oatmeal, brown sugar, skim milk
yogurt
LOTS of fruit
lettuce
carrots
cucumbers
lunch meat
ww bread
cheese

and then of course I'm welcome to eat whatever else they have in the house though they are pretty healthy eaters so there usually isn't a ton of junk.

at my old job when I had to pack lunches...I normally would take
yogurt
carrots w/lil bit of ranch dip
all bran bar
salad or sandwich - sometimes both.

Stashed away in my desk I would keep....instant oatmeal packets, campbells healthy choice soups, and some mixed nuts w/ dried cranberries and blueberries.

I am NOT a fan of microwave meals....such as lean cuisines, etc. Icky.

I take soup to work a lot. I buy campbells soup at hand, so i can just pretty much drink it instead of needing a bowl. I'm a nanny and am always on the move so it works well for me. But you do need a microwave. Some healthy snacks i take are usually like yogurt, crackers, low fat string cheese. (I'm not a fan of veggies)

Hmmm... some good tips there girls! I have a microwave and stove at work which makes things easier. Also have a huge supermarket 5 minutes walk away so can get a sandwich for cheap if I need to buy something.

I bring a sandwich everyday, the same whole grain bread, 1 piece ham, lettuce and mustard - not very imaginative. But I dont usually get much time to eat and need something quickly. My big thing is that I wont eat a sandwich with mushy bread. Eeewww. I either put the mustard between the ham and lettuce layers so it doesnt contact the bread. Toasting the bread also helps it stay fresher tasting.

I usually take a frozen dinner or make a salad and take that in. My work has a salad bar too, so very occasionally I will eat that.
