Well my swimsuit arrived last friday. And I hate it. It has good coverage..not great support...and the torso is short. BUT I want to get started so I'm just gonna wear the stupid thing anyways.

Tonights the night....first night back to aquafit...oh how i"m not looking forward to wearing that suit in front of anyone. I'm already thinking in my mind...."maybe I'll start next week". NO NO NOOOO you wont....your going tonight.

I have to go...I have to get started on this...I have less than 9 months now before we start ttc....oh my gosh that seems so soon all of a sudden.

Looking for some encouragment girls!!!

Woohoo! Welcome back! What time are you done with your class? I would love to hear how it went!
Sorry to hear your swimsuit isn't all that supportive, hopefuly once summer hits the stores will have a good selection for you, so this ones only temporary.......if you do well hopefully the next one will be one (or more) sizes smaller. That could be good motivation--To get out of this suit and find a new one.

you go girl--well one good thing about aquafit is that when you are in the water--everyone can't see your body--it's when you get out...for that--I have a simple solution for feeling uneasy about your body--a long large t-shirt to put on right when you get out...

I am always self conscious about my body--I have a lovely swimsuit with a lovely sarong I wear with it

But just think of it this way--you are doing something healthy for you!

I hope you have fun!

Aw Kari! I'm sorry the suit was a disappointment, that really sucks! BUT you know what? I've found that at the gym, people are less judgmental. I know when I'm in there I'm not looking around thinking all the negative things I assume people are thinking about me. When I see people who are out of shape I'm just so happy and proud that they are in the gym and working on it! I think that most people probably feel that way... no one will have time to judge you b/c they're so busy focusing on themselves, and before you know it the class starts and then definitely no one is focusing on anyone but the instructor. And the PP brought up a great point -- you're in the water so people can't see your body anyway... just bring a nice robe or big towel for when you get out! I think it's great you're going... and the bottom line is... 9 months from now when you're TTC and happy you've accomplished your goals and stuck to it, would you even remember anyone who *might* have judged you way back when?

Hey girls...thanks soo much for all your words of encouragement and support. I really really appreciate it. My class starts at 7:30pm...I'm nervous...only for the fact of people seeing me. And it's not the people in the class that I'm worried about.
At my gym when they renovated they knocked out this big wall and turned it into a huge window so that people can sit in the entry area full of tables and chairs and watch. ughhh not sure who's design idea that was - but it was a sucky one!!! lol. I guess I'll have to make a running dash the few feet from the locker room door to the pool yelling CLEAR THE WAY>>>>>>>>>LOL. Sorry I'm trying to find some humor in it.

I'll update you girls after class!

Enjoy your class, I'm sure you'll feel much more relaxed after the fact and be glad you went! And remember... exude confidence and that's what people will pick up on, if you act self-conscious, people will notice

lol...so understand that feeling..the YMCA indoor pool is built the same way HUGE WINDOWS so people at the front counter can watch you swim!!! AGGgh.

Oh I love to swim, that's one of the reason's I stayed in such good shape...I swam all the time during the summer in NY, I swam almost year round in Florida, and all summer in OK...

It wasn't until I stopped swimming all the time, that I gained the most weight...

I really like to swim, I have a membership to our YMCA--but I have an annoying hang up about swimming

I have too much body hair--and this is embarassing. the hair on my legs and thighs is dark, and not like a man's but definitely noticable and it does grow kind of long..and I'm well very bushy in the nether reason--I try to keep everything neat and trim...I feel like I have to completely defuzz everytime I go swimming--and the thought leaves me exasperated...I know I shouldn't care--but I am so self conscious already--so not only do I have to shave, but I have sensitive skin so my skin will also burn when I hit the chlorine water...not only that despite if I just shaved or not--the minute I get cold my legs feel like cacti--and I'm afraid all it will take is one brush of them and I will maim some poor by stander...

somebody tell me I am overreacting to this! So I can just go and have fun swimming with my boy at the YMCA--they really do have a nice facility.

glad someone could relate to the big windows at ymca.

and yes...you are overreacting. lol. I'm sure that it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be...we are good at doing that to ourselves!! And I hear you on the second you hit the water...I'm the same....but if someone touches my legs then clearly they are in my space and they need to back off!!!!

and I'm reporting in...it's almost 7pm....and I'm not going anymore. I know you all will think its a cop out but it's really not. My nostrils and throat feel dry and sore and this is always a first indicator of me getting sick. The 2 kids I nanny for and mother have been sick all week. I thought I'd get lucky and not get it. I've got my sweats on, and I'm making a cup of hot tea as I speak. Saturday is out as well because I have a wedding shower at 2pm. I'll give a report next wednesday after my class.

oh no, girl I hope you aren't getting icky-- maybe you can get you some of that Celestial Seasonings "Cold Care" it's really good and has echinacea in it...

I feel ya on the yucky part...I got an impetigo infection again...my stupid nose has the staph colony in it..so I get it recurrently--especially when stressed...

I hope you get to feeling better...

No, I don't think it's a cop out--you need to take care of yourself!!!

And the YMCA now has to have the windows like that....they got sued because someone died in the pool and no one noticed the body, for awhile, so they do it for safety....i think it sucks also....ever hear of a camera people!
