1 c. flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 TBSP oil
1/2 c tepid water
about 1/2 inch of oil in frying pan to fry in.
Mix dry ingredients in bowl. Make a well and add the water and oil. Mix it up with a fork, and then use your hands to make into a pliable ball of dough.
Tear apart into about 10 seperate pieces. Roll on floured countertop or table. Fry in the oil, preheated over med-high heat. They'll get bubbly. Turn over to brown both sides of bread.
When it's browned on both sides, remove and put on paper towels. You can lightly salt, if you wish. Serve with beans or beans & rice.
(you could also turn them into elephant ears by sprinkling with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar)
