If you like alfredo sauce, this is a great way to have it without all the fat. This recipe uses a chicken broth base instead of heavy cream, but it tastes so rich, no one will know the difference.
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic, minced
2 c. skim milk
1 c. chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
4 T. cornstarch
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
salt/pepper to taste
Saute onions and garlic until golden brown. In medium saucepan, add millk, chicken broth, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat until smooth and thick. Add Parmesan cheese and continue cooking until mixture is very thick. 399 calories, 6 grams fat
