Welcome! Will is nowhere close to writing letters at all. He's a scribbler. If I remember correctly, Troy was almost 4 before he did

Thanks for the reply. I'm slowly trying to teach my daughter. Her name is quite short so that helps! I'm shocked this post got 16 views and only 1 reply!!

If you look at all the posts, the replies to views are very much the same. A lot of people "lurk" from their phones and aren't able to post.

Alie can write "Alie", but not her full name Natalie. We never use Natalie, so that's probably why. She can write the letter N, so I'm sure she could if we asked her and spelled it out for her. It's all capital letters, and sometimes the E gets moved over if she runs out of space. She's been writing random letters since she was 20 months and surprised us a few months back by writing out her name on one of her craft projects.

Katelynn is no where near writing her name yet but she can't sit still to practice either.

All kids are different. My 6 year old didn't start writing until 5, but my 3 year old already writes his name and has been for quite a while. They're completely opposite in every way except that they're both boys. Personality, diet preferences, learning styles, etc. Completely different!

Most 3 year olds don't write their names. It's usually 4-5 before the interest and/or motor skills are to that point.
