I think we went a little over board this Christmas. I saved money out from my school check to buy everyone gifts, but DH spent more than that. I've wrapped way more gifts than we usually have. I still have no clue what to get for DH though, I have the hardest time buying for him & my dad because they both like tools & such & I know nothing about them. Lol. I know that we need a new desktop computer, so I've been thinking about saving up for that. What if I just give DH a gift card for Staples? Lol. I didn't buy him the tool chest he wanted & I told him it was just too expensive.

I'm also going through my kids things & helping a family in need this Christmas. Last year we bought a few things for a family that lost their stuff in a Christmas tree fire, so I decided to do something similar this year. I have a friend that has 3 children & her husband has been out of work for over a year. He just started back to work right before Thanksgiving, so they really don't have extra money for anything. Our children have been so spoiled by our family, and I figure I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and give them some of the things our children don't use, they are practically brand new.

How do you feel about your Christmas spending this year?

I've been buying a few presents with each paycheck for a few months. We finally finished shopping today. Since I've been working on shopping for so long, I'm not even really sure how much we spent. But we used cash for everything, so no credit card payments come January!

We used cash also. Thank goodness! I'm scared to even add up our reciepts though.
