Pear Bread
1/2 C. Butter
1 C. Sugar
2 Eggs
2 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/8 tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 C. Plain Yogurt
1 C. coarsely chopped, cored pears
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350*. Butter a 9.5"x3" loaf pan.

Cream butter and gradually beat in the sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture alternating with yogurt. Stir in pears and vanilla. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for one hour.

Heather, can you use canned pears or does it have to be fresh pears?

I've only ever used fresh. The only difference I can see is maybe that canned pears have more water in them and are already cooked (and soft).
