My DS who is 9, was sent home on Thursday, he was seen by his pediatrician, had blood work & was diagnosed w/ H1N1... I am on what is called "Tami-flu" (sp?), to prevent me from getting the H1N1 b/c I cannot get sick at all before my surgery, which is on the 23rd, pre-op on the 18th. So I'll be MIA for a good part of November, I hope you guys can bare w/ me. Becca will keep you informed as I'll be in a lot of contact w/her so please bare w/ me for a bit.

Thanks
Chantelle

Not trying to scare you at all b/c you are going through enough right now. Watch & get your family to watch your reaction to the Tamiflu. If you've been taking it a few days you are probably okay. My DH family has had a psychotic reaction in both his grandfather and his nephew from Tamiflu. His grandfather was in a flashback type of thing and had a gun and didn't recognize the people around him. His nephew had a similar reaction but no gun It was pretty scary. They are researching it but haven't come out with anything yet on it but many people have reported similar reactions. He's a nurse and has told me to make sure that he is never given it b/c he believes it may be a reaction that runs in his family b/c of it happening to more than one person.

Like I said, I'm not trying to scare you b/c you are probably fine with it if it hasn't bothered you already. It's just not a common reaction and I don't believe it's listed as a possible reaction.

We'll be praying for you and your family.

TY for the "heads' up"....it is a warning on the Rx info., but I've been taking it since Thursday so I am not worried since it hasn't done this to me. But yeah, it's a "potential side effect" on the list of "warnings"....

Cool. I've heard it's pretty rare. DH has other stuff that's weird that runs his family like an odd reaction to mushrooms and he wonders if it's all tied together.
