For those that know me, my DSS hasn't slept over our home in over 4 years, even though the court order states that DH is suppose to have his son every other weekend from Friday until Sunday. Well...this past weekend, I am happy to report that we got DSS, not for a day or night, but for the ENTIRE weekend! Yup! We had a "small" bump in the road but nothing that wasn't quickly addressed & fixed. I was so happy & so were his brothers & father. The plan is to continue our every other weekend w/ DSS, he was able to spend time w/ his brothers, he did well w/ that. He was a little hyper, but that's to be expected, it was a new thing for him that he hadn't experienced in some time. Even my own 9 year old was having a hard time settling down from the "fun" and the babies too.
With that said, I think this is a great beginning to a situation that has been horrible for so long. To see how this came together was excellent!
Wanted to report a "happy" post, as being in a BF normally doesn't have many "happy" ones.
Wow, that sounds great I'm happy for you both! I even got my daughters. I got 1 of them for just a day visit and the other for an over night and was able to take her to Disneyland with us. This after the 4 months of alienation from me by dad. We go to court tomorrow so we will see.
