Do you feel that child support should cover school clothes & supplies?
I ask this b/c I have always paid for my child's supplies/clothes w/ CS, but for what ever reason, my DH decided to take "MY" Birthday $ (yes, mine)...and spend it on his son to get him school supplies. WTH? Last I checked A)he pays CS, and on time, B)since when do you take MY $ to buy your kid supplies for school? and C) excuse me?
I think child support should cover the basic necessities of raising a child. Sometimes it's not enough to cover the extra things and if that's the case, the parents should work out a way that they can split the costs.
I wouldn't begrudge my step child school supplies, but I would be a little miffed that my personal gift money was used to buy them. I'd make sure that I found a way to spend just as much as I original had on myself.
The short answer is yes, cs should pay for supplies. However, there are times when the cs doesn't stretch far enough and additional money is needed. But t shouldn't come from your own personal bday stash unless he asks you first. And once he's asked he should replace it down the road.
❤ Big Thanks to Vicki, trishosaurus, & Shortcake for the great siggies of my kids! ❤
