I would include DSS. It may not turn out excatly how you want it, but it is a memory to cherish having everyone together.
We have never had a photo shoot turn out the way we want it, but I cherish all of the pictures we have.
We have not done professional family pics of the kids simply because it's almost impossible to have a good schedule where all the kids are included. If my DSD can't be in the picture, then it will simply not be taken. When it comes to pics I personally take, it doesn't matter who's there and who's not.
❤ Big Thanks to Vicki, trishosaurus, & Shortcake for the great siggies of my kids! ❤

One year, we took the kids to see Santa & got a picture of all 4 kids with Santa (of course Dh's oldest was scowling - she was 12 at the time)
We haven't even had a family portrait of the 4 of us. Which I'd love to do but it never seems to happen.
We don't get pictures of Dh's girls although 1 Christmas we got Christmas card with a family portrait of her, her dh and dsd. That was pretty tacky if you ask me. It hurt dh - like he'd been replaced. I mean it was ok that they had the picture taken & even sent it out in their cards but she shouldn't have sent it to dh.
