she changed her mind when she got in front of the Judge.

Man. So The agreement was that they would agree to $241.50 per month (Maryland State Guidelines) and Neely would waive arrearages (from April) so long as she waived any arrearages that he might have owed her in his old child support case (now suspended since he has custody). All was fine and good until the Judge asked her if she was forever waiving her right to pursue him for any moneys that he may have owed her under that case (there was a dispute as to how much but when the case was closed, the judge told her that she had the burden to pursue it, which she has of yet failed to do).

So we go back next Thursday morning for a full hearing. This is going to cost her at least $1,200.00.

Sorry things didn't go well for you. Mediation (IMHO) is a waste of time. Just find it odd that you had a judge for mediation.... here we have a mediator. DF and his ex were ordered to mediation, and it was nothing but a joke and a waste of everyone's time/money.

I hope things go better for you on Tuesday and things can finally get resolved for you.

No, sorry I miscommunicated. We had a mediator for mediation (a lawyer), but in Maryland if parties reach an agreement in mediation, they immediately go before a Judge to solidify the agreement (put it on record) before anyone has a chance to change their mind. We had to wait about 1.5 hours before they called our case, and apparently that was enough time for her to change her mind. But yea, we knew that mediation would be a waste of time. I was actually surprised when he walked out of conference room and said we had to go to the courtroom.

She said at one point "this is all about money to him". Well duh.

And luckily we only had to pay $25 for mediation. She requested a reduced fee and then didn't even pay her $25.

Ugh mediation only works if the parties stick to the terms. Sorry she changed her mind in the end and didn't just put an end to all of this right then and there. I hope the next court date goes great for you guys.
