Clayton likes to call his mom when he gets bored. He tells her every time he calls her that "I was bored so I thought of calling you". I'm not sure how I would feel about that if I were in her shoes, but whatever.
Last night he called her and she didn't answer, but she called back a few minutes later. I picked up when the phone rang and listened for a bit (the boys know and she knows we monitor the phone calls from time to time) and then I handed the phone to Neely to make him listen. She was wasted. Her speech was slurred and she was making no sense whatsoever. She talked for only a short time, but both Neely and I agreed that she was probably high and would end the call if she was like that again when she called.
This afternoon Clayton was bored again so he called her and she had no recollection of the previous day's phone call. I wasn't listening this time, but we were at the dinner table waiting for Daniel to finish his dinner and he kept saying "yeah, I talked to you last night" "no, you didn't talk to Will, he was in his room" "yes, I'm sure I called you cause I called you twice and you didn't answer so you called back" "I just looked at the caller ID, mom".
