It happened the same morning that my granddaughter was born, so I didn't go. As I anticipated, she did not show up. Since we already have a default order we were granted child support in the whopping amount of $241.50 per month. The Domestic Relations Master (a quasi-judge that hears domestic and juvenile cases in Maryland and then makes recommendations for a judge to sign), told Neely that since he already signed the mediation report waiving arrearages from April to October, she was just going to put that in place. Neely was pissed and objected to that, but she said he could file written exceptions (objections) if he wanted to within 10 days. Neely talked it over with his previous attorney (who I work part-time for) and he basically said that we would win if we filed the exceptions, but that it could take another 6 months to get any support order if we did and would we really even get the money anyway (since she's now not working, convenient huh?). So we have an order from October 1st for $241.50 per month. That puts her already nearly $750 in arrears as it is.
Once we get the order from the court we can file a wage attachment, but of course, she doesn't have any wages right now.
How can she live life with no job? I guess I am such a worrier i couldn't live with no income.
Congrats to you on the little bean!!!
I'm not sure how she intends to live. She's got a roommate, so I assume she's milking her and other friends right now. They'll soon get tired of her. One thing I have noticed is that she gets a new circle of friends every 6 or so months because her friends finally figure her out and kick her to the curb.
