Hi, my name is Nicole. A friend of mine told me about this site, so I though I would check it out. I have 4 girls. All of them are adopted. Shannon is 9, Kaylee is 8, Emily is 4, and Aubrey is 3. My husband and I separated in 2008. The older 2 are actually his children but after we separated he signed off his rights. Their birth mother and I get along really well, we are kind of like sisters now. We now share joint custody of them. Its kind of hard since after the separation I moved back with my family in MD and they still live in PA, but we make it work. The younger 2 are my sisters kids. I took over the care of them because my sister felt other things are more important. They go to my sisters house one day during the week and their fathers every other weekend. Our family is very "blended" but it works for us (most of the time lol)
Welcome to the board! What part of Maryland are you in? I'm in Taneytown, Carroll County, not too far from Littlestown & Gettysburg, PA.
I'm Rachel, mom of Sarah (22), James (19), Daniel (5) and one due in August. I'm also custodial step-mom to William (11) & Clayton (9). Will & Clayton see their mom about every other month and have sporadic (at best) telephone contact with her. She has moved 6 times since the came to live with us. She's ordered to pay child support as of October 1st, but we have not seen a penny... ever.
I live in Baltimore County... I'm so glad that they have a blended families board on here. I don't really know many people that go through the same things that I go through with having such a "unique" family situation. I would love to here other peoples point of views and how they deal with the same problems I deal with.
