Oh boy. Friday night it was super nice out so we Sarah and I took the babies for a walk. All of the boy tagged along as well. What we usually do is about 1.5 miles, walking one way in a circle. We decided to stop half-way and got some drinks/snacks at the local hang out (Sheetz). When we kept walking the same direction instead of turning around to go back home, Will asked how we could get home this way and I explained that we were doing a circle. He asked if it wasn't faster to go back the way we came and I said I didn't know and said why don't he and Clayton walk that way while Sarah went the other way and we'd see who got home first.

While they were walking, there was a guy walking in that direction and the boys were getting all skeeved out that the guy was following them so they took a short cut and did beat us home. When I got home they said "there was a guy following us" and I said "I'm sure he didn't have any ill intent, he just happened to be walking in the same direction as you."

Later that night, Clayton called his mom and told her the story, but she honed in on "guy following us" and not that nothing happened and that it was just a coincidence that they were on the same street at the same time, walking the same direction. She went nutso asking for a description, then got off the phone and demanded that Neely figure out who the guy was and call the police. Can you say irrational? Will even told her when he talked to her that it was no big deal and she said she didn't care.

She also told the kids that they better have all 4 phone numbers memorized before they get to her house on Friday (my cell, Neely's cell, the house, and her house). They both know the house number and Clayton knows her number, but they don't go away from home while we are away from home that they need to have our numbers memorized. We have them both written down on an emergency number thing on the fridge if they are ever at home alone (rarely), but my goodness. She threatened to ground them if they didn't have them memorized.

Ugh... there's concerned, and then there's off the rocker crazy. Guess which one I think she is?

Poor kiddo's. It took me almost 10 months to memorize my new cell number.... and I'm a nearly 30 year old woman.... I hope SHE has them all memorized too, if not can we ground her?
