So Clayton called his mom tonight (she left a message yesterday) and he told her why he and his brother were grounded. The conversation went something like this :

Clayton : I'm grounded till Friday cause me and Will were wasting our minutes calling each other.
Mom : you don't have a plan for your phone? (Asked incredulously)
Clayton : no, we have minutes
Mom : wow
Clayton : yeah this whole thing wouldn't have happened if we had unlimited plan.

Say what? First of all, you're 11 and Will is 13. You should consider yourself lucky that you even have a phone. Second? Mom is so shocked that we don't pay $80 a month for them to have an unlimited phone plan when SHE DOESN'T EVEN OWN A CELL PHONE!

Give me a freaking break.

haha. That's priceless.

You gotta love when the blame is put on you when you are going above and beyond and giving them something that isn't even a necessity!

What a freaking moron. My girls are teens and we still do a minute plan for them. There is no way I'm going to allow a child unlimited talk time. I'll give them unlimited data and text, but that's it. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

She could just pay child support. I mean, that would be a start right?

lol that's what I was thinking "maybe if she paid support then a plan might be an option......... well.. maybe if they weren't 11 and 13 to start with!"

That woman is a piece of work.. ugh.. really don't like people like that!

I agree that if she wants them to have unlimited minutes, she should pay!

I don't even have unlimited minutes on my phones. We have a family plan w/ four phones on it. We do have unlimited to verizon customers though and most everyone we talk to is verizon.

We could add them to our Sprint account. We have unlimited mobile to mobile and share 1500 land minutes, but we would have to pay more. See, the family plan is limited to 5 phones and my oldest son, me Neely, Neely's friend and my best friend are on our plan currently. We would have to kick them off in order to add phones for the boys. We may do that when they are older and working part time and can help pay, but they just don't need that much phone right now. I mean my kids didn't have phones at there age. Well, that's not entirely true. I got them phones when Sarah was in 9th grade and James was in 6th, so it's like a year earlier for Clayton, but not for Will.

Anyway, my point remains. Even when Sarah and James first got phones, they weren't fancy and they certainly weren't unlimited.
