Quote from bm to my fil, who was at the house yesterday because the AC broke - apparently, "your son" needs to give her more money because she needs to "take care of things" like doctor's bills (for herself, for a doctor's appointment for a burn she gave herself while cooking). I'm sorry. I guess I didn't realize it was our job to handle her medical bills too (in addition to the fact that we saw the burn and yes, it's not little, but I've burned myself worse at a former job and told her she'd probably be fine if she went and put ice on it (since when we got there she was just walking around like a shell shock victim with nothing on it whatsoever) for the rest of the night when she asked if we thought she needed to go to the doctor).
ugh I really dislike people that think that their ex husbands should continue to fully "take care of things". I know women who get Maintenance who think that their ex's should still be paying for insurance and medical costs too.
I'm sorry she got hurt, but it's not his responsibility to take care of her anymore.
