Monday morning my mom called me and invited all of us up to their house for a cookout for Memorial Day. We were shocked to say the least! It was me, Jonah and all three kids. My sister and her husband were not there. The two little ones did great until Sean came in and started aggravating them! It was very nice. No one was fussing, arguing and everyone was in a great mood surprisingly enough!

Now, on to other things. We have Robert here. Jonah's ex-wife has broken up with her boyfriend again. She does not drive and her sister who lives with her, her truck is illegal so they have no car. She called us wanting us to come take her grocery shopping. They live 45 min from us! Ummm no. I am not wasting my gas to watch her roll around the grocery store for two hours when Robert has food. Not my problem. We can't help it that they decided to not keep the tags current on the vehicle and now sis's license are suspended as well. There is a bus service where they live. They can catch the bus. I only taxi my children around.

Seriously? I can't believe she would ask you to take her grocery shopping, especially from that far away and while your dss is primarily living with you. I definitely don't blame you for saying no. Gas is expensive right now and it isn't your responsibility to make sure she has transportation.

Dh's ex thinks we're responsible for keeping her vehicle tagged and on the road, too. She was awarded the van in the settlement, and dh has tried to transfer it to her name as ordered, but the bank will. not. transfer it until she qualifies for her own line of credit. She claims she's applied for them recently but we sincerely doubt it. She was supposed to have it in her name in September 2010. In the meantime, she thinks it's our job to simply keep registering it for her instead of, oh, you know, doing what she needs to do to transfer it into her own name. She brags about how "awesome" her nut job family is and yet her parents and her brothers won't co-sign on it for her. We registered it for her in 2011 because she gave us no choice (long story) and our lawyer has told us never to do it again, because we're not obligated to, it isn't our responsibility and dh has done everything he can until she does what she needs to do. We've also let her know that dh will sign whatever he needs to trade the thing in for something else if that would be easier for her (the only condition being, per the agreement, she's responsible for any fines, damages or negative equity). We contacted her about it back in December, and she never replied to us at all.

They expire at the end of June this year, so hopefully she has something figured out. In the meantime, she's happy to give an earful to anyone who will listen about how we just "won't" transfer it to her to punish her or something stupid like that. Trust me - I've heard about this person's driving. We do not want our name on the title of a vehicle she is the sole driver of.

What is up with these exes who think things should still be done for them? Thankfully, BM knew better than to ask us for anything that didn't require something for DSD.

Glad you had a good Memorial day with the family.

Glad you had a good Memorial day with your family!

Neely's ex's license is suspended as well for non-payment of tickets from 2002. Yes, her license has been suspended for 10 years! She claims that it's all Neely's fault that she didn't pay her fines, despite the fact that they were separated by the time she got the tickets.

LOL!

Sooo glad we have a good relationship with L. When I told her I may have to come back myself for a few weeks with out DH she said "Oh, you can come grocery shopping with me and the monster then since you won't have a car. Can't have you starve on us!"

Absolutely would not take her grocery shopping and he wouldn't go there for a visit until she had the means to get food either.

BM#2 always had some reason for needing extra money every month. The electric, the heat, a phone bill....and my husband did it because he didn't want to see his son suffer. Gah I'm bitter over the events of the past 6 years.
