So this week Eric started his new job. It's the same job, but with a new company, (They bought out his old company's contract with Home Depot and brought him over when his old company shut down.) He gets paid more, has better benefits, more perks, and is back with his old boss who got laid off a few months ago.
Then Tuesday I get the call that I got the job at the elementary school that I interviewed for last week! I was so ecstatic. I'm a little upset though because yesterday was my last day at the daycare. I wish I could have given them more notice, but school starts Monday and they needed me in today to meet the teacher and tomorrow to do all my HR paperwork. I felt bad, but this is what's best for my family.
Let's compare, shall we?
At the daycare, I worked from 10am-7pm.
I will now work 7:30-3:30 (This equals being home when O gets home from school! Which equals no money spent on childcare! And it equals getting to hang out with him during the week!)
I was offered the job at THREE DOLLARS an hour MORE than what I was making at the daycare.
Full benefits from day one.
EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. that O is off from school, I am too. Same holiday breaks, same spring break, and according to our week on week off schedule, we have him for fall break in October, and half of his winter break, and she has him the other half of winter break and spring break (which we will be on our honeymoon for anyway.)
This could not have come at a better time. I've been stressing about wedding costs. And I really can't wait to start on Monday. I'll be an educational assistant in a 2nd/3rd grade behavioral self contained classroom. Basically these kids want to beat everyone up, all the time. And they can't control their emotions and reactions, and go from zero to 10 instantly.) I am stoked!
In other news. No news is good news. BM has been acting just fine. Aside from her basically storming in and taking over when we took O to his meet the teacher night, we haven't had any issues. They're in the new place now, and every time Eric calls to talk to him, he sounds very quiet and upset, so when we get him back on Sunday we're gonna make sure he seems okay. Moves can be tough, so I'm sure it's hard adjusting to a new place, especially since his moms roommate has a 3 year old.
Here's hoping things keep moving at a nice smooth pace. It's been a nice change.

That's great news congrats. When I go back to work, I'm shooting for a school job as well. The benefits are awesome, as are the hours and time off. Plus I can make he same there that I was making at the law firm. It's not my dream job, but it should be less stressful and better for the family.
❤ Big Thanks to Vicki, trishosaurus, & Shortcake for the great siggies of my kids! ❤
