When my oldest was about a year old I met a guy and dated him for like 2 years. We got engaged and moved in together. We were young. He had a daughter the same age as my son. His ex was younger than us and on her own after their split. She ended up giving him custody for a while because she had no place to live, not enough money for childcare while she worked, etc.
Anyways the guy was a jerk and it was basically me taking care of his daughter all the time. When I ended up leaving him he gave up custody of his daughter and disappeared out of her life. His ex found me on Facebook recently and friend requested me. I accepted out of curiosity...wanted to see how her daughter was doing. For 2 years I was a big part of that kids life, ya know!
Anyways we talked a bit. She ended up finishing college, married a great guy, and has a great life now. Her daughter is good as well. She ended up thanking me and telling me she knows it was me who raised her daughter while she got her life together and she can never thank me enough for helping her through a tough time in her life
On a side note I guess my ex has not seen his daughter in like 10 years! LOSER!
aww that's always nice to hear!!!! I'm glad she and the little girl are doing well!
