That's what they have recommended for us.

I posted a while back about needing to get Will into counseling and several places I called put us on waiting lists. When their mom did what she did with the visitation a few weeks ago, Will missed his first one-on-one appointment that we had scheduled. So I tried to reschedule, but had not yet gotten him seen.

This afternoon, the behavioral health place that I really wanted him into called and said they had an opening for our whole family in this program. It's 8-24 weeks and they include the whole family in the sessions. They do do some one-on-one with Will, but their belief is that the whole family suffers from his bad choices so the whole family should be a part of him making better choices.

So, we're going to give it a try and see how it goes. Our first session is next Wednesday evening!

I'm glad you got in. The program fascinates me. I've never heard of that approach before. It sound very interesting and could be just what you all need. I can't wait to hear how the 1st session goes.

Yeah, me too. At first I was all "no, Will needs the therapy", but then I just got done telling him that his choices affect all of us, so what better way to prove that to him, then all of us working with him to make better choices, kwim?

My sd is in therapy/counseling. Its just hubby, me, and her though. They see her separately and then all 3 of us together.
