Happy? Disappointed?
All I can say is the best thing to come of it was a lot of amazing pent up aggression sex last night.

I feel like America missed the point. I also feel like a lot of people could use a good old fashioned civics class. I hope that Congress can work together amongst themselves. If my husband calls me crying again because they're quibbling and he's staring down the barrel of not getting paid.....I'm too close to DC for that crap.

The presidential election went the way I expected it to go. Maryland voted to allow gay marriage and Colorado and Washington decriminalized personal use marijuana and those things make me happy.

I wasn't too happy about the outcome of the election. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think Romney was the answer to all our problems. But I just feel like Obama has not done a good job and it was time to hand the country over to someone else.

I'm sure this won't be a surprise to anyone because I'm always on the opposite side here but I'm happy & relieved with the outcome.

I think this is a crazy loaded question and I've had enough racist comments, insults and bashing on my Facebook wall to last me a lifetime.
I am extremely happy with how the election turned out, so is DH. As he's the only voter in our house right now, it went his way.
I look forward to 4 more years (my first four, I've been here for 1.5 though), and I look forward to being able to vote myself in 2016 if everything goes in my favor until then

Yup, I qualify in 2015. I'll get to carry two passports if I wish since I retain my citizenship in Canada, and any kiddo's we have can qualify for dual (which means they can choose to live in either country with out needing to immigrate from what I've been told).
I had originally planned on not taking citizenship, as I'm not required to, would just have to renew my Greencard every 10 years after 2015. But we did some looking into legal stuff, and it makes it easier tax wise if I do. And we save $700 every 10 years

I'm not surprised by the way the election turned out. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other because neither candidate reflected my political views accurately, and I'm more frustrated by the lack of viable options than anything else.
I am most frustrated with people cannot seem to voice their opinions and beliefs without blatantly insulting somebody else. I agree with (and disagree with) some aspects from all sides. It's a very difficult place to be in when one set of people writes me off as racist, homophobic, unintelligent, anti-women because I love Jesus, and all Christians are those things, don't you know? It's also difficult when another set of people writes me off as having no moral values, no work ethic and being a closet Communist because I'm not willing to fight the social culture wars and because I happen to like universal healthcare (side note, since I've been asked a lot at work: no, Obamacare is not even remotely the same as Canadian healthcare and no, I don't support it in its current form). None of those things are true. Every gets all crazy around election time, though, and it's really hard to find a safe place when you don't mesh fully with either of the groups speaking the loudest.

I am not happy with the outcome, but I'm over it, nothing I can do about it now.

I'm happy with it. Look Kris someone agrees with you. Obama was given this country to run in shambles. He's doing the best he could do in the time he was given with the constant bickering in DC. I'm not saying he's blameless, but without the backing of Congress, there is only so much he can do. He's one man and one man does not run our country. I hope that the next four years turn out to surprise us all. He no longer needs time to catch up nor time to run for re-election. He can full focus on being president.

I really didnt want either of them but because of what Kayla said. I like views from both sides. I do lean towards more Obama but because of how Romney wanted to change so much, like getting rid of abortions with out a parent there. I think I have that info correct. Dont jump down my back if its not entirely correct I would def want my daughter or sd to come to me or us and let us know whats going on, but I know some kids feel they cant do that because of situations going on at home.
I am happy too Rachel for the pro gay marriage and the legalized weed in Colorado and Washington.

if you look at everything they've proposed in the last few years it was a whole lot worse than just making a parent present for their kids reproductive stuff. Which ever state that just passed no abortions past 20 weeks had to be brown beaten into excluding medical necessity and induction for stillbirths from the list!
I didn't agree with 100% of what Obama said, but I disagreed with about 95%-99% of what Romney said.
I will tell you, this election really showed me how little I truly do believe in God, which at first saddened me, but made me feel a little freer. It totally wrapped up the displaced feeling I've been having for the last year or so.

Not to get into a deep theological discussion here, but for what it's worth, the people who get caught up in the rules, in the judgement, in the legalism, in cultural religion instead of followig Christ... They're really missing the point and that kind of thing is not at all reflective of the real message, and those people are not reflective of all of us. My faith makes me feel free, not bondaged. I'm not trying to sway you and faith is a personal journey for everyone, but I would hate for you to believe that hardcore republican Christianity is an accurate reflection of the God that many of us believe in.

I have some conservative friends and people like Romney and Trump don't represent them at all. I hope the GOP does better by their party members next time around. I mean for crying out loud when you give someone the nomination try to find someone who is liked by their own state.

I agree. If Romney was the best we can do, I shudder to think who is going to run in 2016.
