My 6 yo dsd got this art set from someone on her mother's side. It's this little easel with a plastic pallet and pictures to paint (like colouring book pages, but on little canvases). She asked to bring it over because she'd been dying to open it since Christmas, and I guess the next day bm's house was a mess and she didn't want to get the paint out, and the next day L asked to paint an hour before we got there to pick them up, and by the time we got them home and fed it was too late to get it out. The next day was our family's celebration, so we wouldn't have time then, either. Finally, on the 28th, I said I would get it set up for her - it took me about 25 minutes to lay down some paper, set out her brushes, mix up some paint colours for her, get her a glass of water and some paper towl for rinsing her brushes, get her an old t-shirt to wear so she didn't ruin her clothes...
She would paint for a few seconds, then ask me for help, then want help with her brushes being cleaned, then want some other colours on her pallet, then she needed help fixing a spot where water dripped colour in the wrong place. Finally, I stepped away to finish whatever cleaning I had been working on before we started. I told her to call me if she needed more colours or help with her brushes. That was all in the span of about 10 minutes. She painted for 5 more minutes after I stepped away, and then was finished.

So cute! Glad he finished! My middle dss loves Lego sets too. My mil got him the White House set for Christmas this year (I think between him and my oldest dss, they already own every Star Wars kit available, plus dozens of random Harry Potter, Ninjago, City and Hobbit sets). It's for kids 12-13 (he's 9), had nearly 600 tiny pieces, most of them the same colour... it took him an hour and a half. He's crazy good with it.

Heh! I should put Reme in touch with C. He loves to help everyone else with their sets.

It sounds like they'd get along well.
