Today was early release day for Robert. He got out of school 1.5 hours early so teachers can do training. At 2p the phone rang. It was his bus driver up at the end of our driveway with Robert! We forgot he was coming home early.
Because he is Autistic, they will not let him off at the end of the driveway alone. The bus stop is on a major highway, so it is not really safe for him to get off and wander home alone (about 3/4 mile). I am glad the bus driver has our phone numbers!
The bus will not fit down our portion of the driveway. He has brought Robert down to my mom's when he is really early and Jonah was at work and couldn't take the phone call, but he gave him to Sean.
I'm usually at work but I was off 1 early release day & totally forgot. DD was little then and a walker so when no one picked her up at school they had to call me. I was so embarassed. But really it happens. I hate early release days.
Ugh I have never had that happen to me...not being home that is but I have forgotten about early release days before and get a nice surprise when the kids come pounding on the door to get in LOL....I have also forgotten about late start days and have gotten them up at normal time just to sit and wait til 10 LOL
