To give some background... Myles and Genevieve live with their father in MA. When we agreed on custody it was joint legal and he would have sole physical. Now this means at MINIMUM I get them every other weekend and major holidays. Since the time of this agreement Myles has been less than accomodating and I have no energy to drag him into court. He has kept those kids so busy with activities (they both have black belts, take ballet, jazz, figure skating and play hockey) that my weekends with them always entailed driving off Cape to either a hockey game or testing for one of their belts ect ect ect. I even ran a Daisy/Brownie troop for 3 years just so I could have uninteruppted time with Gi. Never was there a weekend where we just did nothing. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Now it is Christmas and I flew them to FL last year after Myles promised to send them then backed out at the last minute because he couldn't afford it. . .. This year rather than even broach the subject of tickets I found Air tran has flights for $69.00 each way,. Guess what flights my kids are going to be on? You got it! I CANNOT pay $245 each way per child. It is IMPOSSIBLE. Now Myles is saying that they can't come. EXCUSE ME?????!!!!!?????? because they will be missing a couple days of school. UMMM WHAT????!!!! they are taking Honors classes...IF THEY ARE IN HONORS CLASSES I THINK THEY ARE BRIGHT ENOUGH TO MISS A COUPLE DAYS!!!!!!!! well they can't come because they can't miss school. DO THE WORDS I WILL DRAG YOUR ***** TO COURT MEAN ANYTHING?????!!!!!!!!! OH MY LORD I want to reach through the phone and smack him hard right now.

So non custodial parents--what should I do???? The man is double my age and completely unreasonable. TWO weeks out of the freaking year we are talking about. TWO WEEKS!!! And he is going to be a jerk? I won't BE in this God forsaken place next year and be able to offer my children a full Disney vacation. What is wrong with that man??????

If you haven't already, I'd definitely start keeping track of all the visitation you've been screwed out of.
As far as the latest event, I'd probably tell him that this is the last straw and you'll see him in court to have your LEGAL rights to visitation with your children followed and HOPE that he gets the picture and falls in line and doesn't actually make you take him to court. I know I'd avoid going back to court like the plague too. Hopefully a well placed threat will do the trick.
