I'm white, DH is black (light-skinned), and his three kids who we have full custody of are black. They are darker than their dad because their "real" mom is dark-skinned. We just explained to them that God makes people of all colors and that everyone is the same underneath. We are having our first child together, so we'll probably have to explain to the youngest why she is so much lighter than her brothers and sister. I think it really helps, too, if your children are around other bi-racial children so they see how different everyone can be.
