Burning your paper trash? I know it's not as green as recycling it, but around here we don't have a recycling center...the closest one is like 2 1/2 hours away.

Any ideas?

This site is great..I am learning a lot and can't wait to make my own cleaners.

Oh course the burning will release chemicals and smoke into the atmosphere. That said, if its a small fire and you compost the ashes, it has to be "greener" than putting it in plastic garbage bags and never getting to compost.

We always burned a lot of paper trash on the farm that we couldn't recycle. Once the burn barrel had a lot of ash in the bottom it was spread around certain points in the yard rather than thrown out.
