I recently found this idea for turning an XL T-shirt into a comfortable summer skirt! I think it's genius!

I love what she says about them here: "They’re perfect for summertime. They’re perfect for when you’re pregnant, they’re perfect for after you have the baby. They’re perfect if you change size or shape or hate your clothes. They’re just simply PERFECT. Comfortable, casual, and cheap." Sounds good to me!

I went to Goodwill today and bought a few shirts for $2 a piece to try! I know some Goodwills offer one day of the week, where they mark everything with a certain color tag 50% off! So you could potentially get them for $1! Not bad for a skirt!

I also found a XL mens, charcoal gray, 100% wool sweater for $4! I intend to turn it into diaper covers, and I'll use the sleeves to make a pair of "longies" (pants) for my youngest DS! I've been looking in thrift stores for quite a while now, and I've never been able to find anything made with 100% wool, so I'm very excited to get to try this!!

Fabulous idea!

If only I could sew, lol. I am thinking of getting a machine because my 16 yo dd knows how to.

What a great idea!! did you see the link for the infinity dress? That looks WAY too easy to have such great results, but I read thru the tutorial and it looks so simple!!

I just had to come back and say how EASY this was! I can't believe it! Seriously, if you can sew a (semi) straight line, you can make these, because that is literally all you are doing!

Wendy- time to learn! You can practice with no thread and sew on the lines of notebook paper. It helps you learn to sew straight. Then draw a large spiral and "sew" around that. You can do it! You've had children! You can do anything!

Heather- Did you make some?? Pics???

I would love pictures Heather! I'll have to come back and look at that. The kids and I are making some of our own skirts, but it was harder than it needed to be. We are having trouble finding long enough skirts for them (they are 11 and 9) so we decided to make them.
Thanks for sharing!

Way to "sew" Emma! I'm glad to see you on here. Have you recovered from the earthquakes? I think about you all the time!
