I just buy the reusable bags that several WAHMs have on etsy. I'm so not talented enough!
Depending on what was inside we just rinse and let dry or we throw into the bag with kitchen towels and napkins to be washed with them.

For sandwhiches I usually use the reusable bags I got with my disney movie reward points. I also save the plastic bag bread, lunch meats, bagels etc. come in and use those.

DH would forget they aren't disposable and throw them out Not to mention anything that goes into his lunch box is disgusting when it comes out (covered in fly ash and welding dust)... He used to get 2 disposable bags per day, then i started just giving him the whole dang bag of chips rather than dividing them up, which cut me back to 1. 1 disposable bag and one recycled paper plate are his contributions to the trash daily.

eta: that's unless he doesn't eat what's in the plastic bag. Sometimes it's a paper towel instead of a plate too.

I send dh stuff in bread bags and bagel bags too! i tell him to save his ziplock the chips are in and he always throws it away. drives me mad.

i bought little veggie sets at walmart for my son who loves veggie, came in a segregated container with carrots, broccoli, and cherry tomatos and a cup of ranch dressing. the idea was to save the container and make my own veggie tray, but the teacher threw it away after he was done eating. grrr. ill have to make a note next time.

i also save dip containers, like that come with bbq or something you get fast food wise. like a little sauce container is what it is. i use them for ketchup or cream cheese (for bagels) in dh's lunch.

ive also read that you can save the mio containers and use them as sauce container which i think is freaking genius.
