How often do you de-clutter your house and what do you do with the things you no longer want or need?

I suppose it is an on-going process. Depending on what it is what we do with it. If it is broken or what nots then of course it is trashed if it isn't something that can be fixed easily/cheaper than buying new. If it is good for someone else to use then we find someone to give it to or donate it to the local shelter for them to use or to sell in their thrift store.

Every move we do some major decluttering (we've moved 5 times in 6 years). I just did another round of decluttering and organizing thanks to nesting. We're actually going to be staying in one place for 2-4 years so we got rid of "maybe this will work better in the next place" stuff. Currently I'm selling the nice stuff for cheap to other families on base and donating the small odds and ends to the airman's attic (enlisted ranks can get stuff). A few things I've given to friends.

i do a major clean out of the boys rooms in November to make room for Christmas and birthdays (jan & march)

I bag the stuff up and put it in the van, then I have them go through their rooms and fill up a garbage bag of toys to give to needy kids. then I take it all to goodwill.

I do a major spring and fall cleaning, usually around spring break and then at the start of a new school year. I also do a major toy clean out before Christmas and before every PCS (every major move with the Army). I am currently going through a major clothing purge and selling them on our communities FB page to hopefully pay for my new student teaching wardrobe

Not often enough. We need to do a huge haul here soon, we are running out of living space and it's not even Christmas yet.
