Do you ever make toys yourself for your children, or buy them handmade toys? What sorts of things?

That's what I liked to get the kids when they were younger. I loved making or buying them homemade toys. But of course the (ex) in-laws never respected that and got them all sorts of stuff I didn't like them having.

Things like dollies, wooden toys (trains, cars, people), doll houses, silk scarves, etc.

I'm going to enjoy having grandchildren cause then at yaya's house (that'll be me) they'll have nothing but natural, handmade toys, with the same kind of cool "stations" my kids had - a sand/water table, a lego/train table, a easeled painting area (complete with duct-taped plastic on the floor and those little foam interlocking pads), arts & crafts area, etc, etc, etc, etc

I havent before... but.... I bought Raini a halloween costume this year that she'll never wear again. (wonder woman, what can I say, my first girl!!) I have recently fitted it to a doll my mom made for Raini and I plan to make over the doll and turn her into wonder woman to give to Raini on her first birthday.

I made Reme a stuffed Ninja for Easter. His mom told me it needs repairs as it has been well loved.

You ladies are so creative and have such fab ideas.

I would love to make handmade toys but I am no seamstress so dolls, teddies, etc are out. I did once paint an In The Night Garden toy box for Daniel but his dad, my ex, made the actual box.

Daniel and I sometimes make things to play with out of cardboard boxes. We made an airport and runway for all this planes once. They do get beaten up and unusable eventually though.

I had a dolls' house I really loved and for Michaela, I would like to get an old dolls' house and do it up...I could wallpaper, carpet and paint it etc and collect dolls and furniture. It could even be something we could do together.

I think homemade stuff is so much more special.
