In the newest Memory Makers magazine there are a couple of examples how to use your negative space in your page. Negative space would be the area left behind when you cut a letter, or circle, or some other shape out of your paper. So here is one example. I took pics step by step here to see how I did this one to get an idea....

1st if you are going to have holes go through your picture, adhere your pic to your main page. Then use some objects (I used one of my circle templates for my cutter) to use as a guide. Then I gently traced around it with a pencil.

Next use your anywhere hole punch or even your circle cutter to make holes around the shape you just penciled in..

Pick a bright color page to stick behind your paper to show through your holes and adhere it to the back of your main page.

And here is the finished project. Not my best page by far but you get the idea.

And this one I did using my circle cutter, after which I used brads to go around the cut out circles...

You can also go through your scraps collection and just tape little pieces of paper behind each hole you cut to get a more mixed up color range underneath. Also if you have a cricut, you can use the negative space left from your letters...or you can cut a shape, scrolls, moons, whatever.

Have fun- and when you are done you can either post your pics here or in the main forum.

I am just not in the mood all of a sudden to scrap. I think that it has to do with school starting in a week I am so stressed right now it seems like nothing is going smoothly with my recent school change and I am afraid that I wont have my class room ready by the 9th when students start.

Well here is my most recent page. I think that I am going to change the white paint with some soft pink, it just glares at you right now and I dont want it to be the focal point.

I really like that LO! But you're right about the white being a little bit of a focal point; you can probably calm it down a bit with maybe some pastel pink chalk...? I really like it!

I already had the pictures on this page, but couldn't decide what to do with it, so I used it for this. I like the way it turned out, and I can't wait to use this technique on other pages!

Carla- I LOVE the page. The bling is so cute!

Stephie- I am glad you liked the technique! Your page turned out great! The negative space really adds a lot of color without it being too much and pulls the color of your sons shirt real well!
