So my Dad got a phone call this morning from ex-DH's grandmother. She doesn't have my number because all she would do is call and complain about something several times per day... Anyway...she told him that my ex-dh was riding in the car in WV with one of his friends driving and that he was speeding in a construction zone and hit heavy equipment. She stressed that his knee was really messed up (which for a now 350+ pound person is going to be interesting). Since she stressed his knee my Dad is assuming everything else is fine... My first thought? Great! Now he is going to have an "excuse" not to work. If he quits, he won't be eligible for unemployment and probably wouldn't fill out the paperwork anyway. He probably wouldn't file for disability even if he was eligible. He would just live off of someone else and be glad he wouldn't have to pay anything for a while....

I don't know how parents could be so careless towards their children. Hopefully everything works out.
