not finished reading a book?

I have to say I'm the kind of person who finishes the book even if it sucks. I also don't think I've ever walked out of the movies.

There are a couple of books that I've started and not finished; but not because they weren't good... more because I ran out of time and something more important came into focus. A few come to mind: Nine Stories by Salinger, Les Miserables by Hugo, and Six Not so Easy Pieces by Richard Feynman (yes, I'm a science geek, ok? ) I try to finish all of my books eventually, but sometimes I just don't get back to them

I also ALWAYS finish a book once I start - even if it's really boring or whatever. I guess I'm always holding out hope that it will get better! I'm optimistic that way.

I HAVE walked out of a movie though, when it's been offensive. I normally avoid movies with gratuitous violence and/or demeaning sex because those things are very much against my values - but a couple of times things like that were unexpected and I did leave.

Actually quite often. Our library has book sales wehre you buy a bag for like $1 and fill it with whatever you want form their sale. So, I'll often pick up books because they sound like something I would like. Then I get home, start reading and don't get into them. *shrug* I tend to pass them on to someone else int he family.

What I have done is buy books and then don't even start them.
I don't even know how many I have that I should probably start reading already
And I have another Amazon package arriving any day now.

I'm not alone?!?!? Wheew! I really don't know if I'll finish this book about Heaven I'm reading.... I'll try but in the meantime, I'll read this other one!
BTW- I actually lose my bookmarks but not finishing some books... I'm looking forward to unpacking my books for this reason! (hopefully I'll find them!)

yes. I couldn't get through The Poisonwood Bible. I put it down somewhere and must have misplaced it in our move to our house 4 years ago. There is another one as well that is a doctoral thesis in History, the author asks a lot of very good questions and gives his thesis. It's an excellent book, but I put it somewhere, and now I can't find it. I really don't like leaving a book unfinished. Forget about the island of lost toys, I have an island of lost books......

If you find The Poisonwood Bible, finish reading it. You sort of have to read to the end to "get it".
