What are your favorite kinds of non-fiction books?
I like books on Judaism (my religion) and history/anthropology (my major).

Scuba! Diving research... historical shipwrecks... ship sinkings... war books... Exercise studies... dive accident reports....
I used to into mountaineering so I have a ton of those books. (I didn't mountain climb, though.)
I have lots of new books about dogs and mothering....
Kinda a touchy subject... I have lots of new books about religion and the history of it's foundations... from Religious study professors and historicans. (Touchy because they don't always agree with the mainstream religions foundations.)

I have tons of pregnancy/birth and breastfeeding books - I always wanted to know EVERYTHING that was going on with my baby and myself. I've also accumulated a lot of parenting books now.

Have you read Paul Johnson? He has really good books on the history of both Christianity and Judaism.

Hi! I just found this board on this forum, how cool! I am a ferocious reader.

Looking forward to reading people's suggestions. I love to read fiction (I am an 8th grade teacher so I read a lot of young adult fiction, but I read the regular adult stuff constantly, too!). I love to listen to non-fiction on tape. I LOVE religious history, all religions, and weird, obscure historical stuff.

I am ALWAYS looking for recommendations - I hate to take that plunge and buy a book w/o a recommendation, and my local library is pretty small.

As boring as this may sound, I really enjoy reading historical dissertations by Phd. candidates. I also really like to read anything I can get my hands on regarding Mt. Everest.

I love non-fic

I also love reading books on and about Judaism (also my religion) and many other topics such as Buddhism (beautiful philosophies.. I highly recommend The Jew in the Lotus to you Sharon, if you are interested). Art books, home decorating books.. I love it all.

I am a psychology GEEK. I really wish I'd pursued that subject as a career, because it is my obsession.

I also love neuroscience and biology. I used to read a lot of sociology, philosophy and religion, but I haven't been very deep into them lately. I find biographies fascinating. History and politics, not so much so--but those are things I wish I was more interested in, because I truly want to learn more about them.
