What book do you think would translate really well to the big screen?

I've heard the rights to Mercy Thompson (Patricia Briggs) has been bought and will be a movie someday. I think that would make a better show then movie- of course I was estatic to hear two great series were being made into shows and they have been totally changed!

Vampire Diarys- L.J. Smith- when the whole Twilight thing started these were the first books I thought of. I loved these in highschool and still think they are great (although her Secret Circle series is better). The show is fine- but aside from names I don't see too much taken from the book!

The Sword of Truth series- Terry Goodkind- great series overall, the show skipped/changed/ cheated on so many of the details that made it great. If I'd never read the books it might be tolerable... but for me it's not.

I would be hard pressed to think of one. Most of the time I am disappointed by the books made into movies. I'm one of those people who will watch the movie and say, "oh, they left out this or that" or "that's not what happened in the book."

I love The Vampire Diaries (show) I have two of the books, but only flipped through them so far and yeah I don't see very much similar between them.

I haven't seen The Time Traveler's Wife yet. Really want to see that.

Just posted about a "horror" book- Intensity, Dean Koontz. They've made a TV movie (with no budget) that was awful but with the scary movie craze I wish they'd remake this with a good cast and good director. It could be done really well.

The Lonely Bones are in the theaters now I believe. The previews looked good. I haven't read the book yet but I just may before I get that movie on netflix when it comes out!

And another one I want to see is "My Sister's keeper" and the book is by Jodi Picoult. I've heard that the book is way sadder than the movie is and I know I'll probably SOB during the movie. So I think in this case I'll see the movie first and then decide if I should read the book.

The Lonely Bones was such a sad book. I don't think I could be able to watch it. I tear up just watching the previews.
